# Radar in your AI

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that lets AI assistants plug in external data sources. The Funding Radar server gives your assistant the radar's live data: ask “where is funding burning right now” or paste a coin link — the answer comes from today's rates, not from a training-data recollection. Free, no registration or keys, read-only.

## How to connect

- **Claude (web and apps)** — Settings → Connectors → “Add custom connector” → paste the server address. Available on every plan, including Free.
- **Claude Code** — One terminal command: claude mcp add --transport http funding-radar https://funding-radar.com/mcp
- **ChatGPT** — Settings → Connectors → Developer mode → add an MCP server by address. Read tools are available on Plus/Pro plans.
- **Cursor, Windsurf and others** — Add a server with a url field to your MCP config (example below) — clients with Streamable HTTP support connect with no extra setup.

## Six tools

Every answer has three layers: a one-line conclusion, the compact numbers it is based on, and a link to the live page — the assistant can quote the conclusion and show what it follows from.

- **funding_events** — What is burning right now: active extreme events with rates, peaks and sides + the top pairs by hourly rate.
- **pair_briefing** — A pair's card in one answer: rate and side, time to settlement, price, volume, open interest with deviation from the weekly norm, orderbook walls with break-through history, settlement-window statistics, sibling exchanges and the spread.
- **funding_history** — A coin's rate history across exchanges on a common hourly grid: the curves, median and maximum spread — is the divergence holding or did it blink.
- **settlement_calendar** — Upcoming settlements filtered by rate strength and volume + how each pair usually moves before the charge (from its own past windows).
- **spread_pairs** — Hedged pairs: where the cross-exchange rate spread is widest right now, how long it has held, and in how many hours it repays four legs of fees.
- **radar_about** — Reference about the radar itself: exchanges and coverage, a glossary of the terms used in every other answer (per-interval vs per-hour rate, predicted vs charged), Telegram channels for RU and EN, contact email, terms for programmatic access. Called when the source is asked about — not repeated in every answer.

## Limits and honest expectations

- Free and anonymous: no keys, registration or OAuth. IP throttling — 60 requests per minute.
- Read-only and public data only: the same things the site shows without signing in. PRO data is not served over MCP.
- Responses come from a cache of up to 30 seconds — like all of the radar's machine surfaces.
- Rates are predictions for the next settlement; methodology and verification are described on a separate page.
- Not investment advice.

## FAQ

- **What is MCP and why would I want it?** — An open protocol for connecting external data to AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others). With the Funding Radar server connected, you ask your assistant about funding in plain language and it answers from the radar's live data with links to the pages.
- **Is it free? Do I need a key?** — Free, no keys or registration. The server exposes only public data and is protected by per-IP rate limiting.
- **How fresh is the data the assistant gets?** — The same the site sees: exchanges are polled every 2–5 minutes, responses are cached up to 30 seconds, and every answer names the observation time and data age.
- **Which tools are available?** — Six, read-only: events and top rates, a pair briefing, a coin's cross-exchange rate history, the settlement calendar, hedged pairs, and a radar overview. PRO analytics is not included.
